I have been working with Colene for over ten years now. She changes up the workout program to meet my needs,  keep me flexible and maintain my strength. She has helped with my weight loss journey and continues with great counseling and suggestions. I highly recommend Colene for whatever your fitness needs may be.

I highly recommend Colene as a fitness and wellness  instructor.  I took part in her "Best Version of You"  program  last year.  She is knowledgeable, inspiring, and  creates an adaptable program to fit your needs and  schedule.  In addition to personal training, she included  dietary advice and positive feedback.  I was very happy  with my results which included weight, inch lost, increased  strength, and a healthier, more positive outlook.

I trained with Colene when she managed a women-only gym.  I felt she was very knowledgeable and detailed oriented, making sure I understood each exercise and how to do them, not only by explaining them, but also demonstrating how to do them correctly.  She was very personable.  We laughed a lot!   My experience with her was wonderful and memorable.  It was a real pleasure to work with her.

I met Colene when she worked at Gold's Gym in Corpus  Christi, Tx.  She helped me with all the exercises I needed.    A few years later, she began coming to my home and  continued to help me with strength and flexibility. We even  worked together via FaceTime, after she moved back  home  to San Antonio.   Thank you, Colene for all your help.

A tribute to Barbara Abbott...a very special client whom I will always remember.

I met Barbara in the Spring of 2021 through a mutual acquaintance, Kim Gilyard, a Medical Message Therapist.

At the time, she was 84 years old and a very tiny woman with no weight issues at all.   Her (and her daughter, Debbie's) concern was mainly working on her balance, along with increasing strength and muscle mass because of Osteoporosis.   We began right away.  She was such a joy to work with.

She loved plants, flowers and gardening and would always tell me about her plants, or many times, show them to me.   We had that in common.   A couple of times, I helped her water her plants in the front yard.  It was a joy for me to do so.

We would share stories about our families and show each other pictures of our children and grandchildren.  I would be silly with her to make her laugh, and tease her because almost every time I came to see her, she had a new pair of tennis shoes.   She loved shopping....especially for shoes and purses.

Barbara was a hard worker when it came to exercise.  She did everything to the best of her ability.   At times, I really challenged her to make her push herself, but made it fun for her.  She was up for the challenge every time.

She got much stronger and her balance improved but it was something we continually had to work on.   When she was moved to assisted living, she walked a lot.  She walked everywhere in that place and we would walk from her apartment on the second floor and go downstairs to the exercise room, exercise, and then walk back up to her apartment.   She was amazing!

After a while, it became difficult for her to do much walking, so we no longer went down to the exercise room.  Along with her regular exercise, we would walk down the hall and back to here apartment.   As it became more challenging to walk,  I just had her transition (with her walker) from one chair to another and did mostly seated exercises.  She was still attentive and did her best to follow instructions and do the exercises.

Eventually, she was not able to walk at all, so all her exercise was done from her recliner or her wheelchair.   Even then, she still did her best to do the exercises.

During this time, she was officially diagnosed with Dementia and began declining rapidly.   A couple of times, she didn't know who I was, but when I asked her, "Who comes to help you exercise?"  She said, "Colene."  I said, "Yes!  That's me! Here I am!"   And she would smile so big, because she remembered.

She then became unable to do much at all.  We did a few arm exercises, and I would ask her questions to try and stimulate her memory.  I even read The Scriptures to her at times, but sadly, soon after that, she was unable to do any exercise at all.

I had developed such a bond with Barbara and she had become very special to me.  So much so,  that I could not just stop going to see her when she could no longer do the exercises.  So I would go and sit by her recliner, (and later, her bedside) and just read scripture passages to her.   She acknowledged it until she just couldn't anymore.

Barbara passed away on Jan, 17, 2025.  She was a very special lady and became more than just a personal training client.  She became my friend.   I miss her dearly.

But now, I am working with her daughter, Debbie, and she is doing amazing!  I go to her home twice a week and see Barbara's picture on her buffet as we walk through the living room.  It make me smile every time.

Below are just a few pictures I took of Barbara exercising.
